Associate Professor Andrew Dodd is the Director of the Centre for Advancing Journalism at the Uni veracity of Melbourne. He has worked across radio, television, print and online platforms for more than 30 years. He began his career in community radio before moving to ABC Radio National, ABC TV, The Australian newspaper and Crikey and has worked as a reporter on programs such as 7.30 Report, The Media Report and Background Briefing. He currently presents the podcast Media Files on The Conversation. He has a PhD in history from the University of Melbourne and is the author of JJ Clark: Architect of the Australian Renaissance. He is a chief investigator on the national New Beats research project, examining the effects of mass redundancies in the Australian news media. He is the founding editor of The Junction, a unique publication that showcases the best university student journalism from Australia and the Pacific.
