John Dawson

John Dawson enjoyed a 20-year career with Bloomberg TV and a further four years in public relations, including a year advising one of the world’s most dynamic entrepreneurs, Melco Resort’s Lawrence Ho, before striking out on a soon to be announced private enterprise.

At Bloomberg, he progressed from graduate intern to becoming Prime-Time TV Anchor in Europe and Asia, and established a reputation for breaking news and winning global exclusives through probing interviews with heads of state, Nobel Laureates and Fortune 500 CEOs. Past interviewees include UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, US President Bill Clinton, Philippine President Aquino, Italy’s Silvio Berlusconi, Alibaba’s Jack Ma, General Electric’s Jack Welch and Sir Richard Branson.  John is an in-demand conference moderator/speaker, having chaired numerous panels and reported from global conferences. These include the World Economic Forum in Davos, the politically-charged EU, IMF and OPEC meetings and the technology-focused CeBit, Cable Congress and 3GSM events.  John’s exclusive with GE’s Jack Welch was selected for the U.K. Business Journalist of the Year award. As a writer, his work featured regularly on the Bloomberg newswire and in publications around the world, including the IHT, New York Times, Financial Times and Business Week.

John graduated from the University of London with a Bachelor’s Degree in English & Classics. He moved to Hong Kong from London in October 2010.
